US actor Christian Oliver and his 2 daughters died in a plane crash in the Caribbean, police say

St. Vincent and the Grenadines police said that American actor Christian Oliver and his two kids were killed in an aircraft accident near a small private island in the eastern Caribbean.

The jet went down on Thursday while en route to St. Lucia from Bequia, which is located west of Petit Nevis island, according to a statement from the police.

The pilot, Robert Sachs, was also killed, and the girls, Madita, 10, and Annik, 12, were named.

According to the authorities, the crash's reason was first unclear.

While the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard made their way to the scene of the accident, local fisherman and divers rushed to the scene to offer assistance, according to authorities.

Officials expressed their deepest gratitude for the fishermen and divers' heroic efforts.

Among the various film and TV gigs that the 51-year-old German-born actor has racked up are appearances in "Speed Racer" (2008) and "The Good German," a George Clooney and Cate Blanchett–starring 2006 Steven Soderbergh WWII picture.

In the second season of "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" (1990), he played the role of Brian Keller, a Swiss transfer student.
